It has been mentioned a few times recently, by potential adopters, that our homing requirements are ‘very strict’. We just want to explain this a bit more about this.
We do have many adopters come to us with a set up that needs no adjustments at all. There are 2 things we are strict on and that’s size and bedding.
The reason these have to be right is it’s best for the piggies, of course. But it’s also better for you! We aren’t being picky over set ups to be difficult, or get you to spend money in our shop! You’re welcome to shop elsewhere, it’s just easier to collect bits from us, with your piggies!
Our concern is that lots of piggies are handed in because they are ‘too much work’. We believe with the correct set up, we are making life easier for you and better for the piggies!
As far as cost is concerned, we appreciate things add up, with adoptions fees and possibly having your own piggie neutered. We are more than happy to work with you and find used items if needed.
For new adopters, we always recommend the starter packs, this is easier and you know you have the right things. We don’t make any profit on these, in fact for a pair of neutered boys, we make a small loss! If you chose to source your own set up, it’s best to check with us before you buy, we are happy to advise!
